Job Title: Patient Services Representative I (PSR I)




Job Summary

The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the face of the organization, providing high-quality patient care and customer service. This role is responsible for collecting and processing blood and other specimens for laboratory testing while ensuring patient comfort, safety, and confidentiality. The PSR I builds trust with patients by clearly explaining procedures and performing specimen collection in a skillful, accurate, and professional manner. The position emphasizes process excellence, attention to detail, and adherence to established policies and procedures.




Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily work activities accurately, efficiently, and on time under the direction of the area supervisor

  • Draw blood specimens using proper techniques for patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations

  • Perform both clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing following established procedures

  • Prepare and label specimens for laboratory testing in compliance with quality and safety standards

  • Maintain accurate records, documentation, and patient information while ensuring confidentiality

  • Create a safe, professional, and welcoming environment for patients

  • Explain procedures clearly to patients to promote trust and confidence

  • Demonstrate organizational values and leadership behaviors

  • Promote a positive image of the organization to patients, clients, employees, and the public




Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum of 6 months of relevant experience

  • Strong keyboarding and data entry skills

  • Ability to deliver accurate, error-free work in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills




Preferred Qualifications

  • One or more years of phlebotomy experience

  • Medical training (Medical Assistant or Paramedic training preferred)

  • Phlebotomy certification preferred

    • Required in California, Nevada, and Washington

  • Previous customer service experience in a retail or service environment




Schedule & Availability

  • Monday through Friday

  • Must be flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime as required
