Job Description:
- The Patient Services Representative represents the face of our company to patients who come in, both as part of their health routine or for insights into life-defining health decisions.
- The PSR draws quality blood samples from patients and prepares those specimens for lab testing while following established practices and procedures.
- The PSR has direct contact with patients and creates an atmosphere of trust and confidence while explaining procedures to patients and drawing blood specimens in a skilful, safe, and accurate manner.
- The PSR will demonstrate Leadership Behaviours while focusing on process excellence skills and sensitivity to confidentiality and accuracy to patient information. Successful applicants may be assigned to a doctor's office, a patient service centre or as business needs dictate.
Cloud Department / Floor: Radiology
Duties:
- Requires the utilization of appropriate kV and mA techniques to ensure quality diagnostic CT images.
- Performs daily quality control calibration checks on all equipment in order to ensure the equipment is calibrated and working properly before any patient study is performed.
- Injects patients with radioactive material as per the physician’s order following the prescribed protocol.
- Observes all department documentation policies by filling in all appropriate logs, manuals, charge documents, as well as reporting equipment problems in order to comply with regulatory agencies.
- Performs quality control, quality assurance, and safety tests. Follow radiation safety guidelines to comply with ALARA principle.
- Maintains, develops, and retrieves patient films and electronic data for Radiologist interpretation.
- Orders patient-specific radiopharmaceutical doses 1-day prior to use.
- Receives radiopharmaceutical on day of delivery and verifies proper receipt as per policy and procedure. Verifies activity level of the dose prior to administration.
Education / Requirements:
- Licensing with NYS DOH in Radiologic Technologist.
- ARRT certification in Radiography and CT.
- BLS certification.
- At least 1 year of CT experience.
- Graduate of Radiologic Technologist program.
- Required: New York State License (L.R.T), American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), and current CT certification.
Skills:
- Performs CT procedures according to the prescribed protocols in order to ensure uniformity and accuracy.
- Exercises appropriate judgment to assess and respond to patient’s needs prior to, during, and after visits in the Radiology department.
Schedule Notes:
- Days Per Week: 3.00.
- Hours Per Day: 7.50.
- Hours Per Week: 22.00.
