Job Title: Credentialing Specialist
Location: Onsite Hackettstown, NJ 07840
Duration: 3-month W2 contract, with high possibility of extension based on performance and business needs
Pay Range: $25 to $35 per hour (W2)


Job Summary:
The Credentialing Specialist is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance and quality assurance in credentialing activities. This role involves processing applications, maintaining provider information, and supporting credentialing committees to uphold legal and organizational standards.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Enforce regulatory compliance and quality assurance related to credentialing.
  • Prepare and maintain reports on credentialing activities such as accreditation, membership, and facility privileges.
  • Ensure all information complies with legal, federal, and state guidelines when processing applications.
  • Manage credentialing processes for physicians and allied health practitioners, including initial applications and reappointments (approximately 125-200 quarterly).
  • Collect and verify accreditation and verification information.
  • Maintain and update accurate provider information in the Echo database (education, training, experience, licensure).
  • Prepare materials for Credentials Committee, Medical Executive Committee (MEC), and Board of Trustees meetings.
  • Set up and maintain provider information in the credentialing database.
  • Maintain confidentiality of provider information at all times.
  • Ensure compliance with Bylaws pertaining to credentialing processes at each location.
  • Schedule, and occasionally attend and take minutes for site-based medical staff department meetings.
  • Process and collect dues for site-based medical staff.
  • Compile and maintain current, accurate data for all providers.
  • Track license and certification expirations for all providers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of credentialing processes is required.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong research and data analysis abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and establish effective working relationships.
  • Proficient computer skills.
