Phlebotomist II - 1st Shift
Job Location: Livonia MI
Duration:3-4 months of Contract with (temp-to-hire)
Shift: M-F 8a-430p 30 min lunch
Position Summary
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the face of the company to patients seeking routine care or critical health information. This role is responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens and preparing them for laboratory testing in accordance with established practices and procedures. The PSR II establishes trust and confidence with patients by clearly explaining procedures and performing collections in a safe, accurate, and professional manner. This position demonstrates leadership behaviors, process excellence, and strict adherence to patient confidentiality and data accuracy.
Successful candidates may be assigned to a physician’s office, patient service center, or other locations as dictated by business needs.
Key Responsibilities

Perform daily work activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor

Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment

Confidently perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing

Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient initials/signature post-venipuncture to confirm correct specimen labeling

Ensure specimens are labeled in the patient’s presence and accurately reflect patient identity

Maintain all required records and documentation

Demonstrate organizational commitment and promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public

Ability to deliver high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment

Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision

Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections

Strong decision-making skills based on established procedures and sound judgment

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume setting

Ability to adapt quickly and embrace change

Knowledge of business operations and patient service expectations

Proficiency in keyboarding and data entry
Work Schedule & Flexibility

Flexible availability required, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime

Travel and flexible hours required to support multiple locations

Must be able to cover Patient Service Center and in-office phlebotomy locations with minimal notice

Training locations may vary based on trainer availability

Education Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent (required)
-
Medical training preferred (Medical Assistant or Paramedic)

Phlebotomy certification preferred
-
Required in California, Nevada, and Washington
-
Experience Requirements
-
Three (3) years of phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections
