Job Location: Remote, FL
Job Duration: 6 Months
Job Summary:
- The Disability Financial Underwriter will work with Short Term and Long Term Disability opportunities to prepare offers for prospective and renewal clients in the small and mid-market group segments.
- Providing appropriate rationale and support to Sales, clients and other areas within the organization surrounding risk selection, financial analysis, rate computations and financial activity.
- Provides expense estimates and accurate analysis of financial exhibits.
- Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas.
- Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed.
- Follows established guidelines/procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Two or more years of Short Term and Long Term Disability underwriting and risk analysis experience.
- Comprehensive understanding of risk pool management.
- Knowledge of the competitor landscape.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Access.
- Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences.
- Demonstrate high performance and accountability working in a remote work environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience analyzing disability and health related data.
- Industry related course work is preferred but not required.
Additional Information:
- Experience with Dental, Vision and/or Life plans is beneficial.
