Job Title: Financial Underwriter 3
Job Location: Remote, FL
Job Duration: 6 Months

Job Summary:

• The Disability Financial Underwriter will work with Short Term and Long Term Disability opportunities to prepare offers for prospective and renewal clients in the small and mid-market group segments.
• Providing appropriate rationale and support to Sales, clients and other areas within the organization surrounding risk selection, financial analysis, rate computations and financial activity.
• Provides expense estimates and accurate analysis of financial exhibits.
• Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas.
• Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed.
• Follows established guidelines/procedures.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Two or more years of Short Term and Long Term Disability underwriting and risk analysis experience.
• Comprehensive understanding of risk pool management.
• Knowledge of the competitor landscape.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Access.
• Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences.
• Demonstrate high performance and accountability working in a remote work environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience analyzing disability and health related data.
• Industry related course work is preferred but not required.

Additional Information:

• Experience with Dental, Vision and/or Life plans is beneficial.
