- Monday – Friday: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- Saturday: 7:00 AM – 11:00 AM
Job Description
The Phlebotomist I / Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the face of the organization to patients arriving for routine health screenings or critical health-related testing. This role is responsible for collecting highquality blood specimens and preparing them for laboratory testing in compliance with established procedures and safety standards.
The PSR I interacts directly with patients, ensuring a professional, confident, and compassionate experience while accurately explaining procedures and performing blood draws. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, uphold confidentiality standards, and consistently exemplify leadership behaviors and process excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily operational tasks accurately, efficiently, and within scheduled timelines under the direction of the area supervisor.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment at all times.
- Confidently perform both clinical and forensic specimen collections following established guidelines.
- Prepare and process specimens according to laboratory requirements.
- Maintain all required documentation, logs, records, and reports with precision.
- Deliver exceptional customer service while promoting a positive image to patients, visitors, clients, and the public.
- Uphold organizational policies, patient privacy standards, and process compliance.
Job Requirements
- Ability to produce accurate, errorfree work in a fastpaced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including experience with pediatric and geriatric patients.
- Must be flexible and available as scheduled, including weekends, holidays, oncall, or overtime as needed.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Reliable transportation to and from the worksite — public transit, rideshare, Uber/Lyft are not considered reliable transportation for this role.
- Must be punctual, dependable, and able to work the full scheduled shift without early departure.
- Excessive absenteeism or tardiness may result in termination.
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent — Required
- Medical training preferred (e.g., Medical Assistant, Paramedic, etc.)
- Phlebotomy certification preferred
- Required in: California, Nevada, Washington
Work Experience
- Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience — Required
- 1+ year of phlebotomy experience — Preferred
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment — Preferred
- Keyboarding/data entry skills required
