Job Title: Respiratory Therapist
Location: Detroit, MI 48236
Duration: 3+ Months contract (Possible Extension)
 
Schedule Notes: 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM

Job Summary:

• Under general supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Supervisor, delivers lifesupport, resuscitation, monitoring and various medical gases therapy to patients.
• Performs invasive and noninvasive diagnostic procedures to Intensive Care and General Practice Units patients.
• Maintains clinical expertise for Departmental assignments at various business units throughout, as assigned.
• Communicates effectively with patients, coworkers, physicians and other system employees as needed, regarding patient care needs.
• Adequately documents all aspects of patient care. Supervises, directs and delegates to Respiratory Therapists, Respiratory orients, externs and students, as assigned.
• Completes necessary and accurate patient billing information.

• Associate of Science Degree, from an accredited Respiratory Therapist program.

• Bachelors in Respiratory Therapy preferred.

• Registration with the National Board of Respiratory Care.
• Current License Respiratory Therapist in the State of Michigan.
• BLS

• Minimum of 1.5+ years of experience in an ICU/Floor setting
• ABG competency
• Experience with ventilators such as Puritan Bennett 980, Hamilton Transport, and Servo-U
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
