Job Title: Phlebotomist II
Location: Wilmington, NC
Duration: 4 Months of contract (temp to hire)
Shift/Time Zone: Mon - Fri 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Payrate: $19.93 - 22.17/Hr on W2
Position Summary:
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the face of the company for patients visiting for routine health screenings or critical health decisions. This role is responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens, preparing samples for laboratory testing, and ensuring accurate patient identification and documentation.
The PSR II maintains a safe, professional, and confidential environment while demonstrating leadership behaviors, process excellence, and superior customer service.
Assignments may include working in a doctor’s office, Patient Service Center, or other locations based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform daily activities accurately and in a timely manner under the direction of the area supervisor.

Maintain a safe and professional work environment.

Perform clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing according to established procedures.

Draw blood specimens skillfully, safely, and accurately (including pediatric and geriatric patients).

Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient initials/signature post-venipuncture to confirm correct labeling.

Maintain required records and documentation.

Promote a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.

Demonstrate organizational commitment and leadership behaviors.

Ensure confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.
Job Requirements:

Ability to deliver quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.

Capable of managing multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.

Excellent communication skills with patients, peers, and supervisors.

Good judgment and decision-making skills based on established procedures.

Flexible availability including weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call shifts.

Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (if applicable).

Willingness to travel and cover multiple locations with minimal notice.

Adherence to all company policies, dress code, safety standards, and guiding principles.
Education:
-
High school diploma or equivalent (Required)

Medical assistant or paramedic training (Preferred)
-
Phlebotomy certification (Preferred; Required in California, Nevada, and Washington)
Experience:
-
1–3 years of phlebotomy experience required (including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections).

2 years in a Patient Service Center environment (Preferred).

Customer service experience in a retail or service environment (Highly Preferred).

Keyboarding and data entry experience required.
