  • Days per Week: 3
  • Overtime: Billable after 48 hours



General Summary

Under the direction of a Radiologist, performs radiologic procedures for the evaluation of pathological conditions as ordered by a physician. Responsible for following department protocols and utilizing independent judgment in determining appropriate radiographic techniques, positioning, and safety practices.




Key Responsibilities

  • Explain examination procedures and prepare patients for imaging studies
  • Review clinical data and obtain additional patient history when necessary
  • Prepare procedure rooms and maintain adequate supplies
  • Perform radiologic procedures and operate imaging equipment safely and accurately
  • Utilize proper positioning and immobilization techniques as needed
  • Administer IV contrast media when appropriate and monitor for adverse reactions
  • Follow radiation safety and ALARA principles
  • Prepare and maintain sterile equipment and supplies as needed
  • Follow infection control and patient safety standards
  • Complete all required worksheets, records, logs, and documentation
  • Assist with training and education of new hires and students when needed
  • Resolve PACS image exceptions and ensure image quality and delivery
  • Complete RIS study indexing and documentation
  • Confirm clinical protocols with Radiologists prior to studies
  • Demonstrate professionalism, communication, teamwork, and customer service excellence
  • Maintain accurate medical record and radiology system documentation for clinical and billing purposes



Requirements



Experience

Candidates must have:

  • Level 1 or Level 2 trauma experience
  • Prior OR experience
    • Client, neuro, and vascular experience preferred


Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Must maintain required continuing education hours


Certifications & Licensure

  • ARRT registered or registry eligible
    • If registry eligible, certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire
  • BCLS certification required
  • BLS required
