Title: Maintenance Technician IV
Location: Bedford, MA
Contract: 1+ Year
The purpose of this position is:
Responsible for the maintenance of production machines, mechanical equipment, and facility equipment.
The position includes significant duties, such as:
Performs repair and maintenance of facility and equipment such as HVAC, refrigeration systems, chillers, cold rooms, water tower, high/low pressure boilers, vacuum pumps, and lab equipment. Works with external contractors to troubleshoot issues and ensures proper operation and maintenance of facility systems and equipment.
HVAC: Monitors climate control systems daily. Performs preventive maintenance per schedule. Repairs mechanical and control functions of equipment.
REFRIGERATION: Monitors freezers and cold rooms to ensure appropriate temperature. Performs preventive maintenance and maintains documentation of maintenance and repairs.
Monitors boiler pressure and purified water system to ensure proper operation levels, water pressure, and purity are maintained.
Performs preventive maintenance of all equipment (air handlers; air compressors; HVAC; entire WFI system; cold rooms; production equipment s) per schedule.
Responsible for ongoing repairs of lab equipment in support of production needs.
Provides on call 24/7 coverage for emergency response to critical equipment failures.
General facility maintenance such as painting, carpentry, meeting room setup, and/or relocation of furniture and/or equipment.
Required to maintain HVAC/refrigeration certification issued from Commonwealth of Massachusetts, boiler and wastewater license.
Education: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
Associate's degree Preferred but not Required
Working Hours:
Monday through Friday: 7:00 a.m. 3:30 p.m. (possible weekend work too) plus on call/emergency call in hours.
Working Conditions:
Frequently lifts and/or moves objects weighing 25 to 60 pounds and objects weighing up to 25 pounds in difficult work positions. Occasionally required to lift and/or move objects over 60 pounds. Occasionally works in adverse weather conditions (e.g., rain, snow, heat cold). Works in all areas of the facility to include electrical/mechanical rooms, around production equipment, and on the roof. Noise levels vary by assignment. Personal protection equipment is required.
Top 5 Skills/Experience: Preference is HVAC / Refrigeration Certification, WFI Experience, Boiler, Some electrical knowledge and general facility / maintenance experience. Waste Water License will also be helpful
