Job title: - Project Engineer / Project Manager
Location: - Mulbery, FL 33860
Duration: - 11 months
Onsite 5 Days A Week. Includes Site Visits & travel to solar sites
Hours of operation 7am - 3:30pm OT required as needed bases.
Roles and responsibilities: -
- Participate in the development of utility scale Solar facilities, Battery Energy Storage facilities O&M, capital and other budgets and manage expenditures accordingly.
- Develop & manage Solar & Energy Storage construction project operational turnover standards and lead updates of Utility & DER (Commercial) project Quality Checklists.
- Perform multiple Solar & Energy Storage Operations walkdowns of DER (Commercial) & utility scale solar facilities, energy storage facilities during construction.
- Manage the planning, engineering, procurement, construction, and start-up of multiple Solar & Energy Storage Operations capital projects
- Manage project scope, cost, time, risk, quality, procurement, communications and human resources in order to drive project execution and meet project objectives.
- Be accountable for Solar & Energy Storage Operations project performance measured by safety, schedule, financial, and operating goals.
- Coordinate with the department planners to effectively plan, organize, and coordinate the work of the contractors relevant to assigned projects to meet company and department goals and objectives.
- Manage project communications.
- Identify project stakeholders and keep them well informed; effectively facilitate regular project team meetings; deliver engaging, informative, well-organized presentations.
- Ensure accurate project status reporting. Provide updates on cost, schedule, status, and critical items which may materially affect project performance or department or company operations. Present project status to management and key stakeholders on a regular basis.
- Coordinates project activities and decisions with Solar & Energy Storage Operations department management and technical staff.
- Coordinates project activities and interfaces with other departments as needed.
- Coordinates project document control activities to ensure completeness of final project records and drawings.
- Supports development of spare parts inventory lists, Workman hierarchy, equipment lubrication lists, preventative maintenance plans, etc. as necessary.
- Participates in weekly and monthly project update meetings.
- Other tasks as assigned by the Sr. Engineer, Solar and Energy Storage Engineering Projects.
Education:
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in engineering from a ABET accredited college or university
- Preferred: Master’s degree in engineering from a ABET accredited college or university and Advanced business training/or MBA.
Licenses/certifications:
- Preferred: Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Florida. (Required at the Senior Consulting Engineer level)
Experience:
- Required: Minimum of 4 years of Engineer experience related to the Duties & Responsibilities of this position is required.
- Preferred: 8 years of Engineer experience related to the Duties & Responsibilities of this position is required.
Knowledge/skills/abilities:
- Required: A sound understanding of power delivery transmission, distribution or substation engineering principles, materials and their applications.
- Working knowledge of reliability centered maintenance practices, continuous improvement practices and power delivery systems used in electric utilities.
- Working knowledge of work management systems in power delivery.
- Ability to organize, lead and resolve technical and process problems.
- Good project management skills, time management skills and communication skills.
