Job Title: Transportation Coordinator
Job Location: Elmhurst, IL
Job Duration: 3 Months (possibility of extension)
Shift: 1st Shift, 7:00am - 3:30pm
Payrate: $26/ hr. on w2

Job Summary:

• The Transportation Coordinator leads and manages day-to-day transportation operations, ensuring the timely, safe, and professional delivery and pickup of surgical instruments.
• This role combines leadership, logistics expertise, and operational coordination to maintain high standards of performance and customer service.

Job Responsibilities:

• Manage the daily transportation schedule and coordinate all routes to ensure on-time deliveries and pickups.
• Supervise Transportation Technicians, providing coaching, feedback, and performance support.
• Monitor compliance with transportation policies, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for all transportation-related matters within the facility.
• Resolve daily operational issues and escalate urgent concerns as necessary.
• Ensure vehicles and equipment are maintained, inspected, and operationally ready.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on deliveries and client needs.
• Track logistics metrics and maintain records related to routes, schedules, and performance.
• Foster a team culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Direct supervision of Transportation Technicians.

Travel Requirements:

• Occasional local travel; daily operations are conducted on-site.

Working Conditions:

• Work is performed in an active operations environment with exposure to traffic, weather conditions, and healthcare settings.
• Office and warehouse-based coordination may be required.

Required Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Education:

• Relevant coursework in logistics.
• Degree in operations.
• Degree in business.

Required Certifications & Licensure:

• Valid driver’s license.
• Clean driving record (MVR).

Required Skills & Experience:

• Minimum of Three (3) years of experience in transportation, logistics, or operational coordination.
• At least One (1) year of team leadership or supervisory experience.
• Experience supervising or leading teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to juggle shifting priorities with grace.
• Clear, professional communication skills - both written and verbal.
• High attention to detail, especially regarding scheduling, safety, and documentation.
• Proficiency with GPS and route planning tools; comfort with tech-based scheduling systems.
• A strong ability to assess issues and implement effective solutions quickly.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Experience in healthcare logistics or sterile processing environments is a plus.
