This role involves drawing quality blood samples, preparing specimens for lab testing, and providing coverage at multiple locations while ensuring excellent patient care and operational efficiency.

Position: Phlebotomist III – Float
Overview:
The Phlebotomist III – Float represents the face of the company to patients, whether they visit as part of their health routine or for life-defining medical insights. This role involves drawing quality blood samples, preparing specimens for lab testing, and providing coverage at multiple locations while ensuring excellent patient care and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draw quality blood samples from patients following established procedures and safety standards.
- Prepare blood specimens for laboratory testing accurately and efficiently.
- Provide exceptional patient care by creating an atmosphere of trust, confidence, and comfort.
- Explain procedures clearly to patients and perform collections skillfully, safely, and accurately.
- Provide coverage across multiple locations and roles (PSC, Mobile, Long-Term Care, In-Office Phlebotomy).
- Ensure daily activities at assigned sites are completed accurately and on time.
- Demonstrate leadership behaviors and focus on process excellence, confidentiality, and data accuracy.
- Step in as needed to lead one or more Patient Service Representatives (PSRs) on site.
- Act as a coach, mentor, instructor, and resource advisor for new employees.
- Support onboarding and training of new clients and staff.
- Serve as the on-site point of contact and provide regular feedback to the group lead or supervisor.
- Work with high-complexity or high-volume practices requiring advanced phlebotomy and customer service skills.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including Sales, Laboratory Testing Services, IT, Billing, and Logistics.
- Manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medical training preferred (e.g., Medical Assistant or Paramedic).
- Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
Work Experience:
- Five (5) years of phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- Minimum three (3) years in a Patient Service Center (PSC) or In-Office Phlebotomy (IOP) environment preferred.
- Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.
