Job Title: Xray (Radiologic) Tech
Job Location: Brooklyn NY
Job Duration: 3-4 Months (possibility of extension)
Shift: Friday/ Saturday/ Sunday, 3:45pm - 12:00am
Payrate: $65 - $67/hr. on w2

Job Summary:
  • Performs radiologic treatments for patients.
  • Responsible for pre-treatment services and delivery of radiologic treatment.
Primary Responsibilities:

Treatment of patients:
  • Arrange treatment appointments.
  • Deliver radiation to patients in accordance with physician’s instructions.
  • Operate all types of radiotherapy equipment, i.e., Cobalt Therapy Unit, Linear Accelerator, Simulator, etc.
Pre-Treatment Preparation:
  • Operate simulator for localization of tumor size and position.
  • Takes contours and collects all physical factors for treatment plans.
  • Perform dosimetry for treatment plans.
  • Take photographs of patients for portal verifications, etc.
Patient Care Activities:
  • Recognize all types of radiation reactions and provides the proper care and instructions to patients.
  • Educate patients with respect to radiation therapy reactions and also life style modifications.
  • Instruct incoming Residents and technologists in the use of equipment.
  • Prepare cerrobend alloy blocks.
  • Fabricate plastic holders for blocks.
  • Construct and fabricate patient immobilization devices.
  • Take and develop radiographs.
  • Maintain patient management room neat and orderly.
  • Coordinate department with inpatient activities to provide proper patient care. When necessary, transports inpatients.
  • Ensure the proper functioning and maintenance of radiation therapy equipment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Education:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of accredited radiologic program.
Required Certifications & Licensure:
  • Current NY State License for X-Ray technology.
  • Certification in the operation of Radiologic equipment and treatment required.
  • ARRT Certification
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Knowledge of radiologic equipment in use at Client.
  • Good patient interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read and speak English.
  • Ability to fully utilize Client’s electronic record systems, equipment, and other healthcare and billing systems relevant to this position.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
  • No prior experience required, preference for 6 months to one-year x-ray or radiologic experience.
Physical Requirements:
  • Position requires prolonged periods of standing, reaching, walking throughout the working day.
  • Position will be required to stoops, bends, lifts, carry items weighing or exerting force up to 75 pounds.
