Network Engineer

Position Overview
The Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting DNS, DHCP, and IP Address Management (DDI) solutions with a focus on Infoblox platforms. The role requires expertise in configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Infoblox appliances, ensuring high availability, and integrating DDI solutions across on-premises and cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Implementation
- Design DDI solutions that align with business requirements and industry best practices.
- Configure and manage DNS, DHCP, and IPAM solutions, ensuring scalability and reliability.
- Implement high availability and disaster recovery strategies for DNS and DHCP services.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts/workflows for DDI configurations (Python, Ansible, etc.).
- Integrate DDI solutions with CI/CD pipelines and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Operations & Maintenance
- Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, and patching of Infoblox appliances.
- Monitor DDI performance and availability using tools such as Nagios or Prometheus.
- Configure alerts and resolve issues to maintain service continuity.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex DNS, DHCP, and IPAM issues, including root cause analysis.
Security & Compliance
- Implement and maintain security configurations in line with organizational policies.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and security standards.
- Maintain documentation of incident responses, configurations, and procedures.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Work closely with application teams, network engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless DDI integration.
- Utilize ServiceNow for incident, change, and service request management.
- Identify opportunities to optimize processes, improve efficiency, and adopt best practices.
- Stay current with emerging trends, technologies, and industry advancements in DDI solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 5–7 years of hands-on experience with DDI solutions, with emphasis on Infoblox.
- Technical Expertise:
- DNS: Strong knowledge of DNS protocols, zone files, DNSSEC, authoritative and recursive servers.
- DHCP: Proficiency in DHCP configuration, scopes, options, reservations, and failover.
- IPAM: Expertise in IP address management strategies, allocation, tracking, and reporting.
- Networking: Strong understanding of TCP/IP, subnetting, VLANs, and routing protocols.
- Automation: Proficiency in scripting (Python, Perl, Shell) and configuration management (Ansible).
- Monitoring & Logging: Experience with monitoring tools (Nagios, Prometheus) and log management (Splunk).

Preferred Qualifications
- Infoblox Certified Professional (ICP) or Infoblox Certified Expert (ICE).
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent networking certification.
- DNS/DHCP-specific certifications (if available).
- Experience integrating DDI with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Exposure to CI/CD workflows for network automation.
