Job Title: Phlebotomist I
Job Duration: 4 months (possible extension)
Job Location: Sun City, CA 92586
Shift: Monday - Friday from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
Pay rate: $22 - 27.20/hr. on W2
Job Summary:
The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) represents the face of the company to patients who visit for routine health needs or important health decisions. The PSR I is responsible for drawing quality blood samples and preparing specimens for laboratory testing while following established procedures. This role requires direct patient interaction and the ability to create an atmosphere of trust and confidence by explaining procedures and performing blood collection in a safe, accurate, and skillful manner. The PSR I also demonstrates leadership behaviors, maintains process excellence, and ensures confidentiality and accuracy of patient information.
Key Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the area supervisor, the PSR I performs daily activities accurately and on time. The role includes maintaining a safe and professional environment, performing both forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing duties, and following established practices and procedures. The PSR I is responsible for maintaining required records and documentation and demonstrating organizational commitment while promoting a positive image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
Job Requirements:
The candidate must have the ability to deliver quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment and work independently with minimal on-site supervision. Strong phlebotomy skills, including experience with pediatric and geriatric patients, are required. Flexibility is essential, including availability for weekends, holidays, on-call duties, and overtime based on staffing needs.
Education:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Medical training, such as medical assistant or paramedic certification, is preferred. Phlebotomy certification is preferred and may be required depending on state regulations.
Experience:
A minimum of 6 months of relevant experience is required, with at least 1 year of phlebotomy experience preferred. Customer service experience in a retail or service environment is preferred. Strong data entry and keyboard skills are required.
