We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and manage robust data infrastructure and pipelines. You will be responsible for developing scalable data solutions that enable advanced analytics, support critical business operations, and drive informed decision-making across the organization. The ideal candidate has strong experience in data engineering, cloud platforms, and working with regulated healthcare data.

Job Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and manage robust data infrastructure and pipelines. You will be responsible for developing scalable data solutions that enable advanced analytics, support critical business operations, and drive informed decision-making across the organization. The ideal candidate has strong experience in data engineering, cloud platforms, and working with regulated healthcare data.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable data architectures and pipelines.
- Define and manage data flows and models that support digital products and analytics initiatives.
- Provide technical expertise on data modeling, metadata management, and data governance.
- Extract, transform, and load data from various sources to support analytical and operational use cases.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Partner with database teams to ensure data cleanliness, accuracy, and quality.
- Build APIs and data delivery services for internal business users, customers, and partners.
- Develop and maintain systems for high-volume and real-time data delivery (e.g., Hadoop, streaming).
- Transform complex analytical models into scalable, production-ready data applications.
- Continuously ship and deploy code into on-premise and cloud environments.
- Work with modern tech stacks, including Scala, Spark, PostgreSQL, NoSQL, and Angular JS.
- Collaborate with product managers and end users in an agile development environment.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and monitor the impact of analytics on business outcomes.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Bioinformatics, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering or related role
- Experience working with regulated healthcare data (e.g., HIPAA, FDA 21 CFR Part 11) is preferred
Core Technical Skills:
- ETL Development: Proven experience building robust and scalable ETL/ELT pipelines
- Data Modeling: Expertise in relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, DynamoDB) models, especially for healthcare data formats (FHIR, HL7, OMOP)
- Cloud Platforms: Experience with HIPAA-compliant cloud services (AWS preferred)
- Programming: Strong proficiency in Python and SQL; experience with Spark or Scala is a plus
- Data Integration: RESTful API design, HL7/FHIR data ingestion, EHR and medical device integration
