Job Description: Summarized Purpose:
Essential Functions and Other Job Information:
Scientist supporting Laboratory Operations Support:
Prepare buffers, reagents, standards, and solutions according to SOPs. Manage glassware cleaning, drying, storage, and redistribution. Perform routine laboratory housekeeping to maintain a clean, safe, and inspection-ready environment. Label, log, and properly store incoming chemicals and reagents.Monitor chemical inventory levels and ensure proper segregation and storage per safety guidelines. Support laboratory space organization and optimization.
Order reagents, consumables, and laboratory supplies. Track inventory using approved systems and maintain accurate stock records. Coordinate receipt, inspection, and stocking of laboratory materials. Maintain SDS documentation and chemical tracking records.
Manage laboratory waste collection and disposal (chemical, biological, sharps) per EH&S and regulatory requirements. Coordinate hazardous waste pickups. Ensure proper chemical labeling and secondary containment. Assist in laboratory safety inspections and corrective actions. Maintain safety equipment (eyewash stations, spill kits, fire extinguishers logs, etc.).
Coordinate preventive maintenance and calibration schedules for laboratory equipment. Maintain equipment logs and service documentation. Assist with installation and decommissioning of laboratory equipment. Troubleshoot minor operational issues and escalate when needed.
Complete laboratory documentation accurately and in accordance with SOPs and GLPs. Maintain training records related to laboratory operations. Support internal audits and regulatory inspections by ensuring documentation readiness. Assist QA with documentation retrieval and review support.
Support analytical and formulation scientists by preparing materials and ensuring readiness of lab space. Communicate inventory or safety concerns proactively. Build productive internal relationships with lab staff, QA, Facilities, and EH&S.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification
Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 2+ years in lab setting).
Years of experience refers to typical years of related experience needed to Product the required knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the essential functions of the job. Working Conditions and Environment:
Work is performed in a lab and/or office setting, on-site, with exposure to electrical office equipment.
Physical Requirements:
Frequently stationary for 6-8 hours per day.
Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists.
Requires multiple periods of intense concentration.
Occasional crouching, stooping, bending and twisting of upper body and neck.
Light to moderate lifting and carrying (or otherwise moves) objects including luggage and laptop computer with a maximum lift of 15-20 lbs.
Ability to access and use a variety of computer software developed both in-house and off-the-shelf.
