- Monday–Friday: 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM
- Every Saturday: 6:30 AM – 11:30 AM
Job Description
The Phlebotomist I / Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) is a frontline role responsible for providing highquality patient care while performing accurate and safe blood collection. This individual represents the organization to patients and plays a key role in maintaining trust, professionalism, and procedural excellence.
The PSR I will draw quality blood samples from patients, prepare specimens for laboratory testing, and ensure all procedures are performed according to established protocols. This individual will also create a comfortable, confident environment for patients by clearly explaining procedures and demonstrating strong phlebotomy skills.
The PSR I is expected to consistently deliver process excellence, uphold strict confidentiality standards, and maintain accuracy in all patient information and specimen handling.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform highquality blood draws from patients, including pediatric and geriatric populations.
- Prepare and process clinical and forensic specimens according to standardized procedures.
- Greet patients and explain blood draw procedures in a reassuring, professional manner.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment at all times.
- Complete daily tasks accurately and in a timely manner under the supervision of the Area Supervisor.
- Maintain required documentation and specimen records.
- Demonstrate strong organizational commitment while projecting a positive and professional image to patients, clients, and colleagues.
- Work independently with minimal supervision and deliver errorfree results in a fastpaced setting.
- Be flexible and available to support staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, oncall duties, and overtime when required.
Job Requirements
- Ability to produce accurate, errorfree work in a busy environment.
- Strong phlebotomy skills, including experience with pediatric and geriatric patients.
- Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision.
- Flexibility to support weekend, holiday, oncall, and overtime scheduling needs.
Education Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent — REQUIRED
- Medical assistant or paramedic training — Preferred
- Phlebotomy certification — Preferred
- (Required only for California, Nevada, and Washington)
Work Experience
- Minimum 6 months of Phlebotomy experience — REQUIRED
- 1+ years of Phlebotomy experience — Preferred
- Customer service experience in retail or service environments — Preferred
- Keyboarding/data entry skills — Required
Additional Details
- Candidates must live within a 20–25 minute commute of the job site (must list home city/commute time on resume).
- Pay rate is based on actual years of direct phlebotomy experience; overlapping roles will not be double-counted.
- Candidate must have reliable personal transportation (rideshare/bus/Uber is not considered reliable for this role).
- Must be punctual, dependable, and able to complete the full scheduled shift each day.
- Excessive tardiness or absenteeism will result in termination.
