Job Title: Biologist (ARA) - II
Job Location: South San Francisco, CA
Job Duration: 12 Months
Shift: Work shift:  Monday-Friday, (8am - 5pm PST). Occasional weekends.
Pay Range: $37 - $39.4/hr. w2
Note:
  • Candidate should be flexible and open to cover during weekend whenever needed.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: PK, oncology , cardio metabolic disease and biologics.
  • No PHD
Job Description:
  • Associate degree with 3+ years , or Bachelor’s Degree with 2 or more years of relevant experience in biology and animal sciences, or Master’s Degree with 1 or more year of relevant invivo experience, in chemical biology, molecular and cellular biology, pharmacology, biology, or other relevant scientific discipline
  • Additional years of relevant industry experience(in-vivo experience) is preferred.
Responsibilities
Study support may include:
  • Performing or training staff on animal handling.
  • Compound administration
  • Dosing (All routes with an emphasis on intravenous administration in rodents)
  • Sampling
  • Tissue collection
  • Animal ordering
  • Clinical observations
  • Understanding and executing in vivo studies including collaborating with researchers, obtaining formulated diets, monitoring and maintaining equipment.
  • Assist with perioperative care, provide husbandry oversite on weekends including room checks and emergency facility issues.
  • In-vivo dosing, bleeding, animal veterinary care and handling of small laboratory animals during a shifted workweek that includes the weekend.
  • Scientific curiosity, analytical mindset with a drive to own a project to understand biology, mechanism of action and drive it through the discovery pipeline.
  • Ability to work independently in executing tightly controlled experiments, analyzing data, and presenting to teams.
  • Effective communicator, having people skills and being able to work as a team player and working effectively in a matrixed environment.
Required Experience and Skills:
  • Experience working with small laboratory animals with hands-on experience in in-vivo dosing, bleeding, tissue collection and handling techniques.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: PK, oncology , cardio metabolic disease and biologics.
  • The individual will perform experiments in the laboratory with minimal guidance and supervision in the execution of complex in vivo studies to support the pipeline.
  • The successful candidate will also possess a strong sense of intellectual curiosity to expand their technical expertise, as well as effective written and interpersonal communication skills to collaborate across functional areas.
  • Ability to work flexibly in a dynamic team environment.
  • Works independently and is able to simultaneously handle a diverse workload with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • The ideal candidate should be team oriented, value workplace partnership and can work with minimal to no supervision.
