This position is responsible for researching and screening orders, accurately and efficiently reading, interpreting, and entering prescriptions into the computer system in a timely fashion, and/ or thinking through and solving escalated prescription issues. Technicians will direct questionable prescriptions to the prescriber for clarification, enter incomplete prescription information once clarification has been obtained, and complete appropriate described patient letter. Through your skills and knowledge, you will offer solutions needed to help simplify the customer health care experience. Areas of focus for Pharmacy Technicians may be entering patient and prescription information into our system, and faxing physicians for prescription clarification, substitutions, and formulary changes. To help support development and maximize workflow, you will be asked to perform other pharmacy functions as required.

***Work Arrangement Details***
Initial Onsite Requirement:
- Contractor must be onsite for the first 8 weeks of the assignment.
Remote Flexibility:
- After 8 weeks, remote work may be considered based on performance and manager approval.
***Work Environment Expectations***
- While working from home, contractor must work in a private office or enclosed space with the door shut to ensure focus and confidentiality - contractor must have a distraction-free home office setup and demonstrate the ability to work independently and effectively.
Position Summary:
REQUIRED SKILLS & OTHER MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Adept at reading/interpreting prescription terminology and medications.
2. Rapid keyboarding skills while maintaining 100% accuracy.
3. Able to meet specified production and quality standards as defined by the management team.
4. Able to recognize and identify commonly used generic drugs and the route of administration of these drugs.
5. General knowledge of commonly used generic drugs.
6. Able to understand and interpret Latin symbols commonly used on prescriptions medications and able write routine correspondence.
7. Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. This includes the ability to calculate dosages and days-supply prescriptions.
8. Must be flexible and enProduct working in a fast pace, team-oriented environment.
Duties:
Must be able to resolve and enter incomplete prescriptions after clarification is obtained. Complete appropriate described patient letter. Assist/perform other pharmacy functions and duties as required.
Experience:
Required:
Completion of Pharmacy Tech training program.
3 months Pharmacy Experience.
MUST KNOW HOW TO TYPE AND HAVE BASIC COMPUTER KNOWLEDGE.
MUST HAVE AN ACTIVE STATE BOARD OF PHARMACY LICENSE OR TRAINEE.
**Include Texas or Client State Board of Pharmacy registration number on resume.
Education:
Verifiable High School diploma or GED is required.
