Job Title: Packaging Technologist / Packaging Engineer
Location: East Hanover, NJ (Onsite)
Duration: 3 Months+

Pay rate: $42/hr. on W2

Shift/Schedule:

• 1–2 remote days per week possible
• Standard day shift hours
• Travel up to 20% (occasional trips to Chicago or Long Island)

Role Overview:
Join a collaborative R&D team to execute Packaging Design and Deployment projects focused on PPA, Productivity, and Growth. You will be responsible for end-to-end packaging development, ensuring that packaging meets both functional and consumer expectations while aligning with manufacturing and marketing goals. This is a hands-on, lab-focused role supporting scale-up, testing, and reporting activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and deliver packaging design and deployment projects with minimal supervision
• Plan and execute pilot plant and factory trials according to GMP and HACCP standards
• Support process development, including packaging design, scale-up, and commissioning
• Conduct transit testing and analyze results using statistical methods (primarily in Excel)
• Maintain accurate and complete packaging specifications and technical documentation
• Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers for sampling, approvals, and updates
• Communicate project status, risks, and recommendations clearly and proactively
• Prepare detailed technical reports based on data and analysis

Education:

• BS/MS in Packaging Science (iOPP CPP or CPIT certification preferred)

 
Experience:

• 3+ years in CPG packaging, preferably within the food industry
• Strong background in packaging testing, data analysis, and technical report writing
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and HACCP principles
• Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple projects, and communicate effectively
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data interpretation and visualization
