Job Title: Phlebotomist II
Location: Midlothian, TX
Duration: 3+ Months (Possibility of Extension)
Shift: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM CST
Position Overview
The Phlebotomist II (Patient Services Representative II) serves as the face of our organization, interacting directly with patients for routine health checks or critical diagnostic needs. This role involves collecting high-quality blood samples, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, and ensuring compliance with established protocols. The ideal candidate will create an atmosphere of trust and confidence, demonstrate leadership behaviors, and maintain strict confidentiality and accuracy in patient information.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the supervision of the area supervisor.
- Maintain a safe, professional, and welcoming environment for patients.
- Execute forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing following established procedures.
- Verify patient demographics and ensure proper labeling of specimens in the patient’s presence.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Promote organizational commitment and a positive image to patients, clients, and the public.
Job Requirements
- Ability to deliver quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Flexible availability for weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.
- Adherence to company policies, dress code, and safety standards.
- Strong decision-making skills and sound judgment.
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (if applicable).
- Willingness to travel and work at multiple locations with minimal notice.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
- Superior customer service and communication skills; openness to change and process improvement.
Education & Certification
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Medical training (Medical Assistant or Paramedic) preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification preferred (mandatory in CA, NV, WA).
Experience
- 1–3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
- 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.
- Customer service experience in retail or service industry highly preferred.
- Keyboard/data entry proficiency.
Training locations may vary based on trainer availability.
