Job Description:
7AM to 3PM
- Maintain technical knowledge of 13.2kV, 4.16kV and 480V switchgear, protective relay application and testing, 480V motor control centers and motors, 120VAC uninterruptible power systems. Lead site electrical safety team and maintain site arch-Product analysis.
- Develop, design and document applications of instrumentation and control systems to integrate with the existing PLC and distributed control systems here at the plant.
- Evaluate the existing instrumentation and utilizing engineering design practices.
- Recommend, source, and ensure proper installation of new instruments in a manner that will provide accurate, reliable process control.
- Provide hands-on assistance to Electrical and Instrumentation Technicians with troubleshooting instrumentation problems including system calibration.
- Assist in developing capital project programs for new equipment and major repairs.
- Provide support for our Alarm Management and SIS initiatives. Participate in PHA’s and LOPAs.
Quals--
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related engineering field.
- 7 years professional work experience
- 3 years or more of work experience in Electrical & Instrumentation design
- Proficient with AutoCAD
- Understanding of OSHA, NFPA, NEC, engineering standards
- Working knowledge of controls systems (Rockwell, Client, etc.)
- Working knowledge of controls protocols (Ethernet, Modbus, Profibus, etc.)
- Working knowledge of the different elements of an electrical cabinet
- Understanding of motor controls and VFDs
- Understand how to size components (fuses, disconnects, power supplies, arc Product, etc.)
- Understanding of how to perform an electrical/controls safety review.
- ISA standard experience preferred.
