Shift: Monday–Friday, with rotational Saturdays
- Weekdays: 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Every 3rd Saturday: 6:00 AM – 10:00 AM
Job Description
The Phlebotomist I / Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the front-line representative of the company and plays a key role in delivering an exceptional patient experience. This position is responsible for obtaining quality blood samples and preparing specimens for laboratory testing while adhering to established procedures, safety standards, and confidentiality practices.
The PSR I must create a welcoming environment, demonstrate strong phlebotomy skills, and effectively explain procedures to patients to ensure comfort and clarity. This role requires professionalism, accuracy, and a strong commitment to patient care and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Specimen Collection & Processing
- Perform clinical and forensic specimen collection confidently and accurately.
- Ensure proper labeling and handling of specimens according to procedures.
- Prepare collected samples for laboratory testing.
Patient Interaction & Professionalism
- Greet patients professionally and provide clear explanations of procedures.
- Create an environment of trust, safety, and comfort.
- Promote a positive image of the organization to patients, clients, and coworkers.
Operational Duties
- Complete daily responsibilities accurately and on time under the supervision of the area supervisor.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment.
- Accurately maintain records, logs, and required documentation.
- Demonstrate organizational commitment and consistent adherence to company policies and procedures.
Job Requirements
Skills & Competencies
- Ability to deliver accurate, errorfree work in a fastpaced setting.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric experience.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, oncall assignments, and overtime as required.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently.
Attendance & Transportation
- Must have reliable transportation (personal vehicle required; bus/Uber/rideshare not accepted).
- Must be punctual and able to work the full scheduled shift.
- Excessive tardiness or absenteeism will result in termination.
- Candidates must reside within a 20–25 minute commute of the worksite.
Education Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent — REQUIRED
- Medical training (Medical Assistant or Paramedic) — Preferred
- Phlebotomy certification — Preferred
- Required only in CA, NV, and WA
Work Experience
- Minimum 6 months of experience — REQUIRED
- 1+ years phlebotomy experience — Preferred
- Customer service experience in retail/service environment — Preferred
- Keyboarding & data entry skills — Required
