JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Summary
Performs accounts payable and expense report processes and provides support in other accounting functions as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.
Prepares accounts payable register and other related reports.
Prepares vendor invoices for payment daily, including account distribution, matching invoices to purchase orders, receiving tickets, and obtaining proper approvals.
Prepares batches of invoices for payment and enters data into the accounts payable system for processing.
Prepares expense reports for payment processing and enters them into the accounts payable system.
Responds to and researches vendor inquiries regarding the status of accounts payable invoices.
Updates the master vendor file by adding new entries and maintaining existing vendor accounts.
Education and Experience
Associate s Degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, or a similar area of study.
Zero to three years of previous experience.
Preferred:
Bachelor s Degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, or a similar area of study.
Zero to three years of previous experience.
General knowledge of accounting, office administration, accounts payable, and/or payroll.
Work Environment
Key points regarding environmental demands and work environment for the job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
Required to use motor coordination with finger dexterity (e.g., keyboarding, machine operation) most of the workday.
Required to exert physical effort in handling objects weighing less than 30 pounds, rarely.
Rare exposure to occupational risks (e.g., cuts, burns, toxic chemicals).
Rare exposure to physical environments involving dirt, odors, noise, or weather extremes.
Normal work setting is an office environment.
