Job Title: Accountant V
Location: 100% Remote (Candidates must reside in one of the following states: AZ, FL, GA, ID, IA, KY, MI, NE, NM, NY [outside greater-NYC], OH, TX, UT, WA [outside greater-Seattle], WI)
Work Hours: EST time zone preferred

Time zone requirements- East Coast (EST) time zone is preferred.
What are the must have requirements?
Strong General Ledger GAAP knowledge.
Accounting Systems experience (including Excel)
Integration of acquisition into acquirer’s platform. Strong system skills along with GAAP accounting knowledge.
Summary:
The Corporate Accountant is responsible for the day-to-day and month-end accounting processes for the state plan to which he/she is assigned, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
Day to day responsibilities:
Integration of recent acquisition into parent system for accounting activity including:
Maintain General Ledger Mapping from Seller to Client
Drive Account Reconciliations
Drive General Ledger entries for month end close
Load Trial Balance from seller into Client’s system in an automated manner.
Coordinate close with Seller’s staff and Client Staff.
Essential Functions:
Preparation and entry of journal entries, including GAAP and statutory reporting entries Calculation of accruals/estimates
Perform bank reconciliations and ensure proper coding of cash receipts/transfers.
Account reconciliation to identify errors in posting or coding Performs monthly P&L analysis with explanation for variances to budget and/or prior periods.
Account analysis including proposing required journal entries as needed. Supports annual audit process by preparing schedules requested by auditors
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite Ability to work independently and multi-task, with a strong attention to detail Flexibility to work additional hours on an as-needed basis to meet deadlines
Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to abide by Clients policies Maintain regular attendance based on agreed-upon schedule
Maintain confidentiality and comply with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)
Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective work relationships with coworkers, clients, members, providers and customers
Required Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting or Business
Required Experience: 10+ years of experience in related field Proficient in MS Excel and Word Knowledge of networked computerized multi-company accounting syste
