Shift and Schedule:

  • Shift: 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM EST

  • Duration: 4 months, possibility of extension 

  • Hours per Week: 40 hours

  • Days: All days of the week (flexible schedule based on staffing needs)

  • Training Locations: Varies based on trainer availability

  • Work Locations: Includes doctor’s offices, patient service centers, and other locations as business needs dictate




Job Title: Phlebotomist I - Traveler



Job Summary:

The Patient Services Representative (PSR) serves as the face of our company, offering compassionate and professional service to patients. The PSR plays a vital role in drawing quality blood samples, preparing specimens for lab testing, and ensuring the accuracy and confidentiality of patient information. Working directly with patients, the PSR creates an atmosphere of trust and comfort while explaining procedures and drawing blood in a safe, skillful, and accurate manner. Additionally, the PSR demonstrates leadership behaviors, focusing on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy.

As part of the team, the PSR will be assigned to various locations including doctor’s offices, patient service centers, or other sites as required by business needs. Under the direction of the area supervisor, the PSR is responsible for performing daily tasks accurately and on time, maintaining a professional environment, and demonstrating excellent customer service.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Draw blood specimens from patients using appropriate techniques (venipuncture, capillary).

  • Prepare specimens for lab testing, ensuring quality and proper labeling.

  • Verify patient demographic information and initial signatures to ensure accuracy of specimen labeling.

  • Maintain patient confidentiality and handle sensitive information with the utmost care.

  • Promote a positive and professional image of the company to patients, clients, and coworkers.

  • Handle all specimen collection duties (forensic and clinical) in accordance with established procedures.

  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a safe, organized working environment.

  • Demonstrate excellent organizational skills and perform work in a timely manner.

  • Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining quality and accuracy.

  • Communicate clearly with patients to explain procedures and answer questions.

  • Follow all company policies and procedures, including dress code, health and safety guidelines, and Excellence Guiding Principles.

  • Adapt to flexible work hours and locations, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.

  • Maintain required records and documentation as per company standards.



Job Requirements:

  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.

  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including experience with pediatric and geriatric patients.

  • Flexibility to work in various locations and cover shifts with minimal notice.

  • Ability to make decisions based on established procedures and exercise sound judgment.

  • Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record (if applicable).

  • Ability to demonstrate superior customer focus and communicate effectively with patients, peers, and supervisors.

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with a focus on error-free work.

  • Ability to embrace change and demonstrate leadership behaviors.
