Job Summary:
- Conducts Computerized Tomography (CT) procedures and tests to acquire and analyze patient diagnostic data.
- Uses professional manners and methods to verify patient identification.
- Obtains patient history and assists patients and family members requiring extra attention.
- Ensures patient understanding and safety.
- Verifies pregnancy status for patients of childbearing age and documents accordingly.
- Obtains images per established protocols.
- Manipulates and reconstructs images (multi-planar and 3D) as required.
- Demonstrates thorough knowledge of CT algorithms.
- Selects appropriate window and level settings based on anatomy.
- Administers oral contrast to adult and pediatric patients per protocol.
- Establishes IV lines and administers IV contrast safely and properly.
- Follows procedures to determine contrast eligibility.
- Verifies appropriate lab values prior to injection as per protocol.
- Maintains a thorough understanding of PACS.
- Transmits images to QC, Client’s EMR, EPIC, and PACS systems.
- Verifies and segments images at the QC station.
- Accesses IMPAX service tools to confirm successful image transmission.
- Completes, modifies, and/or cancels orders appropriately to prevent duplicate billing.
- Ensures all charge information and demographic data are accurate.
- Verifies patient identification per Client policy.
- Completes tasks in a timely and efficient manner to maintain workflow.
- Volunteers for challenging procedures and research tasks.
- Produces high-quality diagnostic images.
- Reviews patient charts and reports for correlation.
- Maintains a clean and orderly work environment.
- Documents incidents as opportunities for improvement.
- Precepts new employees and students as assigned.

- Prior education, training, and experience that provide the ability to perform assigned CT tasks.

- Completion of an accredited educational program in Radiological Science.

Required Certifications & Licensure:
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or registry eligible.
- Registry-eligible candidates must provide a copy of their diploma from an accredited program.
- Advanced certification in CT is required.
- Candidates must become registered within one year of employment and maintain registry status and continuing education annually.
- All imaging specialists must maintain current competency in HCP BLS.
