Phlebotomist Floater
Job Tittle: Phlebotomist Floater
Duration: 2 Months
Shift: M-F between 6am-5:30pm and alternating Saturdays 7am-12pm
Pay Rate: $22/hr on w2.
Overview:
The Phlebotomist III – Float represents the face of the company by providing high-quality phlebotomy services to patients. This role involves drawing blood specimens safely and accurately, preparing samples for lab testing, and ensuring patient comfort and trust. The Float position provides coverage at multiple sites and may step into leadership or mentoring responsibilities when needed.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform venipuncture, capillary, and pediatric/geriatric blood collections skillfully and safely.

Prepare and process specimens according to established protocols.

Explain procedures clearly to patients while creating a professional, compassionate, and trustworthy environment.

Provide coverage across multiple sites (PSC, in-office phlebotomy, mobile, long-term care, and house call environments).

Act as a coach, mentor, and trainer for new employees, providing onboarding support and guidance.

Serve as point of contact for staff on-site and provide feedback to supervisors or leads.

Handle complex/high-volume practices requiring advanced phlebotomy and customer service skills.

Collaborate with internal departments such as Sales, Lab Testing Services, IT, Billing, and Logistics when handling specialized or complex orders.

Ensure all patient information is handled with confidentiality and accuracy.

Demonstrate leadership, process excellence, and problem-solving in a high-volume setting.

Support daily operations, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and on time.
Education Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent (required).

Medical assistant or paramedic training (preferred).

Phlebotomy certification (preferred; required in CA, NV, and WA).
Experience Requirements:

Minimum 5 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.

At least 3 years of experience in a Patient Service Center (PSC) or In-Office Phlebotomy (IOP) environment (preferred).

Experience in retail or service industry customer service (preferred).

Proficiency in keyboarding and data entry.

Float coverage across West Hartford, Wethersfield, East Hartford, and Berlin sites.
