Phlebotomist II
Job Location: Louisville KY
Duration: 2+ months of Contract with (temp-to-hire)
Shift: Mon-Fri 8am-5pm
Position Overview:
The PSR II acts as the face of the company, providing direct patient interaction for routine or critical health services. This role involves skilled and accurate blood specimen collection, preparation for lab testing, and ensuring a trustworthy and professional patient experience. The PSR II demonstrates leadership behaviors, process excellence, and strict adherence to confidentiality and accuracy in patient information.
Successful applicants may be assigned to various locations, including doctor's offices, patient service centers, or other sites as needed.
Key Responsibilities:

Patient Interaction & Specimen Collection:
-
Provide quality, skillful, safe, and accurate phlebotomy services (including pediatric and geriatric patients).

Create an atmosphere of trust and confidence by clearly explaining procedures.

Verify patient demographic information and obtain initials/signatures post-venipuncture to confirm correct labeling of tubes.

Specimen Handling:
-
Collect and process both forensic and clinical specimens in compliance with established protocols.

Prepare specimens for lab testing accurately and efficiently.

Operational Duties:

Perform daily activities accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.

Maintain a safe and professional working environment.

Manage required records and documentation diligently.
-
Demonstrate good judgment in decision-making following established procedures.

Exhibit flexibility to travel and work across multiple locations with minimal notice.

Handle multiple priorities in a high-volume setting effectively.

Job Requirements:
Skills & Abilities:
-
Excellent phlebotomy skills (pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections).
-
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
-
Reliable, flexible, and able to meet staffing needs including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.

Strong multi-tasking ability in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
-
Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record (if travel is required).

Sound decision-making skills with good judgment.

Superior customer service and communication skills.

Willingness and ability to work across multiple locations.
Education:
-
High school diploma or equivalent – REQUIRED
Experience:
-
Minimum of THREE years phlebotomy experience REQUIRED.

Travel and flexible hours required to cover multiple sites and shifts with minimal notice.
