Phlebotomist II
Duration: 5 months
Locations: Silver Spring MD
Shift: 10pm - 6:30am M- F (Nigh Shift)
Job Summary:
The PSR II is the face of the company to patients, responsible for collecting high-quality blood samples and preparing them for lab testing. This role requires excellent patient interaction, phlebotomy skills, and adherence to procedural and safety standards. Assignments may vary between doctor’s offices, patient service centers, or other locations based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities:

Patient Interaction & Specimen Collection:
-
Draw quality blood specimens from patients, including pediatric and geriatric populations.

Explain procedures to patients clearly and compassionately.
-
Perform both forensic and clinical specimen collection.
-
Verify patient information and obtain post-collection signatures to confirm specimen labeling accuracy.

Operational Duties:

Complete daily tasks accurately and on time under the direction of an area supervisor.

Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.

Keep accurate records and documentation.

Skills & Abilities:

Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.

Ability to multitask in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

Work independently with minimal supervision.

Handle multiple priorities efficiently.

Demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills.

Capable of making sound decisions within established guidelines.

Availability & Travel:
-
Flexible scheduling required (may include weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call shifts).

Must be able to travel to multiple locations with minimal notice.

Must have reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (if applicable).

Education & Certification:
-
Required:
-
High school diploma or equivalent.
-
Phlebotomy certification (required in CA, NV, and WA).
-

Preferred:
-
Medical training (Medical Assistant or Paramedic).
-
Phlebotomy certification outside required states.
-
Experience in a Patient Service Center.
-
Retail or service-based customer service background.
-
Keyboard and data entry experience.
-
Work Experience:
-
Minimum of 3 years phlebotomy experience.
