Title: Accounting Manager (Lease)
Contract: 3 Months and Possibility of Extension
Location: Dallas, TX 75234 (Onsite 3x a week)
Specific Skills Needed:
Top 3-5 mandatory and/or minimum requirements GL accounting experience, big corporate/high volume experience, expert excel and ERP systems, critical thinking
Top 3-5 desirable attributes/qualifications? IFRS16/ASC842, SAP, retail industry experience
Required levels/ Years of Experience education discuss whether there is flexibility 3+ years experience with bachelor's in accounting - not flexible
GENERAL FUNCTION
The Sr. Accountant participates in all lease accounting activities supporting Client*** North America with heavy focus on variable sales based rent, IFRS16 lease valuations and corresponding general ledger activities.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for various lease-based accounting activities (e.g. accruals/deferrals, lease valuations, sales based rent, etc.).
Completes month-end close duties accurately and timely (e.g. recording / approving journal entries, performing variance analysis, etc.).
Interacts with accounting partners in North America and across the world
Prepares/reviews reconciliations for various balance sheet accounts. Identify, communicate and resolve any reconciling items.
Ensures compliance with IFRS accounting requirements, and internal controls.
Works directly with internal and external auditors to ensure successful and timely completion of internal audits and quarterly/annual reviews.
Proactively identifies and implements process improvements as necessary.
Completes special project work as assigned.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor s Degree in Accounting or Finance
3+ years of comparable accounting experience with big corporate, high volume environments
Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
In-depth understanding of internal controls and segregation of duties
Advanced MS Excel
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Solid organizational and multi-tasking skills
Demonstrate willingness and ability to be a self-starter, taking the initiative to solve problems
Demonstrate the ability and desire to initiate and successfully accomplish personal and business goals
Ability to analyze problems, to compile data, to determine facts and reach a logical conclusion
Search for opportunities to grow, improve and innovate
Ability to build strong business relationships in a team environment
