Job Description: M - F from 7 am - 3:30pm.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform basic handyman tasks including repairs to fixtures, fittings, and furniture.
Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) inspections as per schedule (e.g., lighting checks, emergency equipment, HVAC filters).
Manage and supervise contractors on site, ensuring safe systems of work are followed.
Operate and enforce the permit-to-work system for maintenance and construction activities.
Support small to medium project installations and minor refurbishments, ensuring logistical and compliance support.
Assist with the set-up, installation, or removal of equipment and infrastructure as needed.
Monitor and report on the condition of building systems and report issues through the FM Helpdesk system.
Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and contribute to risk assessments and method statements.
Maintain records and logs of completed works and contractor activities.
Essential Skills and Experience:
Proven experience in general maintenance or handyman role within a facilities or building services environment.
Working knowledge of contractor management and permit-to-work systems.
Ability to carry out PPM inspections using checklists and basic tools.
Understanding of safety systems of work and FM compliance obligations.
Good interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer-focused approach.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable:
Basic technical qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2 in Maintenance Operations or equivalent).
Experience supporting office or industrial facility projects.
Knowledge of FM Helpdesk and CAFM systems.
