Job Title: Senior Learning & Development Specialist
Location: 100% Remote Role.
Duration: 12 Months
Pay Rate: $53.33 - $55/hr (W2)

 
About the Role
The Senior Learning & Development Specialist will lead the strategy and execution of learning content for new product launches, training initiatives, and content redesign efforts. The ideal candidate brings a strong clinical/scientific background combined with instructional design experience and commercial acumen. This role operates cross-functionally to align content strategies with commercialization goals and ensures scalability and consistency across markets. A key focus will also include recommending AI-forward approaches to streamline and enhance content development processes.
 
Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary contact for inquiries related to available learning content across brands and therapeutic areas.
  • Design and implement content strategies for new training initiatives and redesigns, including content outlines and blueprints.
  • Provide strategic input and feedback during the content development phase for new product or indication launches.
  • Ensure content strategy aligns with launch objectives, therapeutic area training, and selling models.
  • Drive alignment among Marketing, Medical, and Instructional Design teams on content priorities.
  • Collaborate with Product Directors and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop selling skills workshops and supporting learning assets.
  • Lead and participate in brainstorming sessions to ensure strategic consistency across training programs.
  • Manage new content development projects, including deliverable tracking, timeline management, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Identify and recommend AI-based solutions to improve content development and content management efficiency.
 
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry, preferably in commercial, clinical, or learning roles.
  • Strong clinical literacy with the ability to understand and apply scientific content across therapeutic areas.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline required; Master’s, PhD, or PharmD preferred.
  • Proven project management experience, with a strong ability to manage complex timelines and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Familiarity with instructional design methodologies and learning development best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and align cross-functional teams.
 
Preferred Experience & Skills
  • Experience supporting product launches and commercialization strategies.
  • Previous involvement with global teams and content localization for diverse audiences.
  • Understanding of selling skills frameworks and field force enablement programs.
  • Proficiency with learning development tools and platforms such as:
    • Articulate Rise and Storyline
    • Adobe Acrobat and InDesign
    • Microsoft PowerPoint
    • Smartsheet
  • Experience with content centers of excellence or learning agencies.
  • Exposure to AI tools for content creation and management.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
