Shift: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM (Rotational Saturdays 6:00 AM–10:30 AM EST)
Job Overview
The Phlebotomist II / Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the face of our organization, supporting patients who visit for routine health checks or critical diagnostic needs. This role is responsible for collecting highquality blood specimens and preparing them for laboratory testing while adhering to established procedures.
The Phlebotomist II must cultivate a welcoming, professional environment, instill patient confidence, and perform blood draws with accuracy, safety, and compassion. Candidates may be assigned to a physician’s office, Patient Service Center, or other designated locations based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Interaction & Specimen Collection
- Perform venipuncture, pediatric, geriatric, forensic, and clinical specimen collection with confidence and precision.
- Explain procedures to patients and create a trustworthy, comfortable atmosphere.
- Verify patient identity, demographics, and obtain signatures; ensure all specimens are labeled in the patient’s presence.
Operational & Administrative Duties
- Perform all daily tasks accurately and on time under the direction of the area supervisor.
- Maintain required logs, records, and documentation per company and regulatory standards.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and professional work environment at all times.
- Process specimens following established guidelines and workflows.
Customer Service & Professionalism
- Promote a positive image of the organization to patients, clients, and colleagues.
- Demonstrate strong customer service skills, professionalism, and adherence to confidentiality.
- Exhibit leadership behaviors and process excellence in daytoday work.
Flexibility & Reliability
- Travel to and cover multiple locations as needed, often with minimal notice.
- Adhere strictly to attendance expectations—punctuality and shift commitment are essential.
- Must have reliable transportation (rideshare or public transit is not acceptable).
- Maintain compliance with dress code, health & safety policies, and organizational guiding principles.
Required Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Preferred: Medical training such as Medical Assistant or Paramedic
- Phlebotomy certification preferred (mandatory in CA, NV, WA)
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary draws (required)
- At least 2 years working in a Patient Service Center environment (preferred)
- Customer service experience in retail or service setting (preferred)
- Keyboarding/data entry experience required
Skill Requirements
- Strong phlebotomy skills across all age groups
- Ability to produce accurate work in a fastpaced, highvolume environment
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Exceptional customer focus and communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously
- Sound judgment and adherence to procedural decision-making
- Comfort with change and willingness to support business needs (OT, holidays, weekends)
Additional Information
- Candidates must live within a 20–25 minute commute of the worksite to ensure punctuality and reliable coverage.
- Excessive absenteeism or tardiness will result in termination.
- Training location may vary based on trainer availability.
