Phlebotomist II
Location: West Allis WI
Duration: 3months
Shift: 5:30am - 2pm M-F
Position Overview:
The PSR II serves as the face of the company, interacting directly with patients to collect blood specimens for laboratory testing. This role requires professionalism, skillful phlebotomy techniques, and the ability to create a welcoming and trustworthy environment. The PSR II works independently or as part of a team at various locations including patient service centers, doctor’s offices, or other assigned sites.
Key Responsibilities:
Phlebotomy & Specimen Collection:

Perform forensic and clinical specimen collection (venipuncture and capillary) including pediatric and geriatric patients.

Label and verify blood specimens in presence of patients, including demographic checks and patient signatures.

Prepare specimens for laboratory testing in accordance with established procedures.

Maintain specimen integrity through proper handling and storage.
Patient Interaction & Customer Service:

Create a positive and professional environment for patients.

Explain procedures and answer patient questions with confidence and compassion.

Promote trust and ensure patient comfort and confidentiality.
Administrative & Operational Tasks:

Perform daily duties under the direction of the area supervisor accurately and on time.

Maintain documentation and required records.

Follow all company policies including dress code, safety guidelines, and confidentiality standards.

Ensure cleanliness and organization of work area and equipment.
Teamwork & Flexibility:
-
Be available for flexible scheduling including weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call shifts.

Travel to and cover multiple Patient Service Center or In-Office Phlebotomy locations with minimal notice.

Demonstrate leadership behaviors and contribute to process improvement efforts.
Job Requirements:
Education:
-
High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
Experience:
-
Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience.
Skills & Competencies:

Excellent phlebotomy technique

Ability to produce accurate, error-free work in a fast-paced environment

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Superior customer focus and communication skills
