Job Title: Specimen Technician

Location: Miramar, FL 33025

Duration: 6 Months with possibility of an extension.

Shift: Monday to Friday 10pm -6:30am

Job Description:

The Laboratory Technician performs routine laboratory tasks to assist professional staff and ensure smooth daily operations. This role requires precision, accuracy, and adherence to safety protocols in handling specimens and laboratory equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Follow safety and biohazard handling protocols to maintain a secure working environment.
• Maintain high levels of productivity and quality standards to meet departmental completion times.
• Perform data entry, process insurance payments, and handle front office clerical tasks.
• Communicate effectively with internal staff and team members.
• Accurately sort, label, and process specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Conduct centrifugation and aliquoting of specimens as needed.
• Support patients in checking in, dropping off specimens, and getting added to the available appointment or standby list.
• Follow safety and biohazard handling protocols to maintain a secure working environment.

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• No prior experience required, but previous laboratory or production environment experience is preferred.
• Basic computer skills, medical terminology, and laboratory specimen processing.
