Location: Edison, NJ – 08818
Duration: 9+months (High possibilities of Extension)


Shift: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM (5x8 hours)
 
Note: Must have both inpatient and outpatient EEG experience.

Note: OTHER OPENINGS FOR MOTHER-BABY/ LABOR & DELIVERY/ MEDSURG-TELE/CVICU/ ARE AVAILABLE.

Pay Range:
Local Pay: $30 - $35/hr on w2
Travel Pay: “EXCELLENT PAY WITH GREAT NONTAXABLE AMOUNT”

 
Note:
  • You can refer your friends or colleagues for this role or any other RN role, we do offer a referral bonus of $750.
  • Stipend is also provided to the candidate living more than 50 miles from the facility
  • Other locations available in NJ.
  • Local/Travel Contracts available in multiple departments in all states.
 
 
Job Summary:
  • The EEG Technician is responsible for performing all varieties of electro neurophysiology monitoring as part of the Neurology or Epilepsy Surgery Program.
  • This position operates the equipment of the EMU and processes data to be used to generate a report.
  • Obtains medical seizure history from the patient including contraindications to proposed treatment.
  • Educate patient and family about procedure.
  • Monitors patient continuously during procedure, reports seizure activity to the nursing staff, and respond appropriately to patient emergencies.
  • Works with neurologist and neurosurgeons using various types of electrodes, patient bedside in the lab as well as in the operating room or other areas in the Medical Center.
  • Records electrophysiology data from the patient and makes adjustments, uses special montages as needed, focuses and adjusts camera, recognizes artifacts.
  • Performs standard activation procedures to generate report and reviews the data with neurology epileptology physician.
  • Maintains the electrophysiology monitoring unit equipment and network features in working condition and trouble shoots problems.
 
Preferred Skills & Experience:
  • EEG, Evoked Potentials, Nerve Conduction.
  • Patient Population: EMU ICU Pediatric and adult patients
  • Preferred: Familiarity with Natus and Nihon Kohden systems.
  • Must have both inpatient and outpatient EEG experience
 
Required Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of program at an accredited EEG school.
 
Required Certifications & Licensure:
  • In process of obtaining ABRET registration.
