Paralegal III
Job Title: Paralegal
Location: 100% Remote – Must reside in one of the following states: FL, GA, ID, IA, KY, MI, NE, NM, NY (outside greater NYC), OH, TX, UT, WA (outside greater Seattle), WI
Work Hours: Monday – Friday | 8 AM – 5 PM or 9 AM – 6 PM PST
Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Paralegal to join the Legal Affairs Department, supporting regulatory and corporate compliance efforts across multiple jurisdictions. This role involves preparing filings, researching regulations, supporting audits, and maintaining legal documentation, with a focus on managed healthcare operations (Medicare, Medicaid, Marketplace). The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and thrives in a fast-paced, multistate regulatory environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Draft and prepare regulatory filings for state and federal agencies.
Assist in responding to state audits and regulatory examinations.
Maintain and draft corporate documents (e.g., articles, bylaws, consents, resolutions, operating agreements, dissolutions, foreign qualifications).
Support holding company filings and assist Deputy General Counsel as needed.
Conduct legal research on statutes, regulations, and healthcare-related requirements.
Maintain internal tracking charts for subsidiaries, officers/directors, intercompany agreements, and licenses.
Support legal matters related to mergers, acquisitions, and business proposals.
Coordinate with trademark counsel and Marketing team for intellectual property maintenance.
Organize and manage electronic legal documents and archived records.
Facilitate remote notarizations for executives and board members.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education: Associate degree or Paralegal Certificate required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience:
5–7 years of paralegal experience.
Minimum 3 years in managed healthcare, with knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and Marketplace programs.
Experience across multiple states is preferred.
Technical Proficiency:
Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Teams, Excel)
Legal tools: Westlaw, iManage (preferred), document management systems, and SharePoint
Key Skills:
Strong legal research and writing skills
Excellent organizational and time management abilities
Attention to detail and high accountability
Familiarity with NAIC regulations, insurance department portals, and filing procedures
Effective communicator and dependable team player under pressure
