Respiratory Therapist
Schedule: 6:30 PM 7:00 AM (3x12 shifts)
Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend and holiday
Orientation: 3 days (36 hours)
Job Summary
Under the general supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Supervisor, the Respiratory Therapist delivers life-support, resuscitation, monitoring, and medical gas therapy to patients. Performs both invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures for patients in Intensive Care and General Practice Units.
Maintains clinical expertise to support departmental assignments across various business units as needed. Communicates effectively with patients, physicians, co-workers, and other staff regarding patient care needs. Ensures accurate documentation of all patient care activities and billing information.
May supervise, direct, and delegate tasks to Respiratory Therapists, respiratory therapy students, externs, and new staff as assigned.
Required:

Associate of Science Degree from an accredited Respiratory Therapist program
Preferred:

Bachelors Degree in Respiratory Therapy
Certifications & Licensure
Required:
-
Registration with the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)

Current Respiratory Therapist License in the State of Michigan
Preferred:

BLS Certification
Skills & Experience
Required:
-
Minimum 2 years of recent Respiratory Therapist experience

NICU experience (must be current or within the last year; experience must be clearly listed)
Technology Experience:

Cerner

High Frequency Oscillating Ventilator

Servo I and Servo U Ventilators
Soft Skills:
