Job Title: Network Architect
Location: Lutz, FL 33549
Duration: 6 Months (Contract)
Work Arrangement: Onsite 4 days per week, Monday–Friday Lutz, FL 33549
 
Position Overview
The Network Architect will be responsible for the design, implementation, and support of network and security solutions, with a primary focus on data center migration projects. This role involves architecting and building enterprise-level networks, implementing robust security frameworks, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
 
Key Responsibilities
Design & Architecture

• Architect, design, and implement network solutions, including route/switch, on-premises LAN/WAN, IPAM, Wi-Fi, ISP management, site-to-site VPNs, proxies (forward/reverse), wireless, load balancing, DNS, automation, and hyperconverged infrastructure.
• Design and migrate Identity Services Engine (ISE) solutions for the new data center.
• Architect and design network components for new systems and enterprise projects.
• Plan and execute network upgrades and maintenance to ensure optimal performance and security.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and security frameworks.

• Implement and maintain network security solutions, including NAC, segmentation, intrusion detection/prevention, and zero-trust security models.
• Support efforts for network segmentation and network access control (NAC).

• Support the design of network connectivity for AWS Connect and integration with internal systems.
• Lead architecture and design efforts for call center system migrations to the new data center.
• Develop migration strategies and detailed plans for network components.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, affiliates, and business units to design and support enterprise solutions.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in network architecture, design, and implementation.
• Strong knowledge of network protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and routing protocols (OSPF, BGP).
• Proven experience designing and implementing network security solutions within critical infrastructure environments, preferably in the electrical or energy sectors.

• CISSP, CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent certifications.

• Familiarity with compliance and security standards: PCI DSS, NERC CIP, ISO 27001.
• Knowledge of industry standards such as IEC 62443 and NIST SP 800-82.
• Expertise in network segmentation, DMZ architecture, and zero-trust frameworks.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for engaging both technical teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize deliverables effectively.

1. Lead the migration and design of ISE for the new data center.
2. Architect network connectivity to support AWS Connect integration.
3. Support migration of call center systems to the new data center.
4. Develop and implement network migration plans.
5. Lead enterprise architecture initiatives, solutions, and proof-of-concept projects.
6. Support network segmentation and NAC initiatives.

• Onsite 4 days per week, with 1 day remote.
• Travel may be required to client sites within the electric service territory.

• Ability to lift 50–75 lbs.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
