Job Title: Phlebotomist (Traveler)
Location: Niles, MI 49120
Duration: 4 Months+ (Possibility of Extension)
Shift: All days week.
Job Summary:
- The Patient Services Representative (PSR) is the primary point of contact for patients and represents the company in a professional and compassionate manner.
- This role is responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens, preparing samples for laboratory testing, and ensuring patient safety, confidentiality, and accuracy.
- The PSR performs both clinical and forensic specimen collection while following established policies, procedures, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily assigned duties accurately and on time under the direction of the Area Supervisor.
- Collect clinical and forensic blood specimens using approved phlebotomy techniques.
- Prepare, label, process, and handle specimens according to established protocols.
- Verify patient identity and demographic information, including obtaining patient initials/signature post-venipuncture to confirm correct tube labeling.
- Clearly explain procedures to patients to create trust and confidence.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.
- Ensure compliance with patient confidentiality and data accuracy requirements.
- Maintain complete and accurate records and documentation.
- Demonstrate leadership behaviors and process excellence.
- Promote a positive company image to patients, clients, employees, and the public.
- Work in various settings, including doctor’s offices, patient service centers, or other locations based on business needs.
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric patients.
- Ability to deliver high-quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal on-site supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.
- Sound decision-making skills based on established procedures.
- Ability to adapt to change and support business needs.
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of 2–3 years of phlebotomy experience (Required).
Work Schedule and Flexibility:
- Flexible availability required, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
- Ability to work flexible hours and cover multiple locations with minimal notice.
- Training locations may vary based on trainer availability.
