Business Analyst - Technical Operations, Windream
Description:
Background:
This role will support the Technical Operations (Tech Ops) domain within the larger Group Informatics organization of Client.
Tech Ops provides strategic, stakeholder, and business connections for informatics products and services specifically required for the technical development, sourcing, manufacturing, quality control, and supply of Client products, as well as the support of production assets and capabilities. Within Tech Ops is the Diagnostic Manufacturing product line.
The product line includes all diagnostic manufacturing sites and treats each site as a product.
Each site product encompasses all capabilities and support needed at the site, as well as the deployment of global/common capabilities.
IT teams at each site are considered part of the respective site products.
The BA will support the Indianapolis site and be responsible for the discovery phase of the retirement preparation of the Windream computer system.
This includes accessing the system to assess the existing data and determine which business units on the Indianapolis campus are utilizing the application.
This includes but is not limited to, identifying their data composition and if/how they are utilizing the system live.
This will require communicating with local business units to determine how the Windream system is utilized for their respective departments and what kind of data is in the system.
Tasks and responsibilities:
Access the Windream instance in Indianapolis and learn the data structures
Identify the data and the data business owners
Communicate with the business data owners to determine application usage and the type of data they have in the system
Document data to specific business owner's type and usage
Write use cases based on information collected
Write requirements based on individual business cases and needs of system utilization
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify future solutions that align with the documented use cases.
Develop detailed requirements specifications for the identified future solutions.
Create a mapping document to connect current use cases with potential future solutions.
Assist in planning the data migration process, including defining data mapping and transformation rules.
Work with technical teams to ensure a smooth transition of data to the new solution.
Qualifications:
5-7 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry
3-5 years of experience with GXP, CSV, and GMP environments
Bachelor's degree in engineering, information technology, or equivalent
Experience working in a global, virtual matrix organization
Strong database and querying skills required.
Strong stakeholder management, communication skills, and conflict management skills
Strong problem-solving skills, analytical, structured, empathic, quality-conscious, target-oriented
Analytical thinking, structured approach to identify potential benefits and structure them into business cases
Agile and Waterfall project management experience
Fluent in English (written and spoken)
Preference shown to those candidate who have experience in:
Windream
