Job Summary
The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) provides advanced cardiopulmonary care to neonatal patients in a high-acuity NICU setting. The therapist utilizes evidence-based therapies and critical care techniques to manage and treat neonatal patients requiring respiratory support.
Required Qualifications

RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist)
-
RCP (Respiratory Care Practitioner)
-
BLS (AHA)
-
PALS (AHA)
-
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
-
Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapy experience
-
Level IV NICU experience preferred
-
Current applicable state license
Key Responsibilities
-
Administer respiratory care including oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, inhaled medications, airway clearance, and invasive/non-invasive ventilation

Manage ventilators and advanced respiratory equipment in a Level IV NICU environment

Participate in neonatal resuscitation and emergency response situations

Review physician orders and diagnostic results to determine appropriate respiratory interventions

Monitor and assess patient response to therapy, adjusting care as needed

Educate families on respiratory treatments and equipment

Accurately document all treatments, therapies, and supplies used
-
Adhere to infection control, HIPAA, and hospital safety policies
-
Collaborate effectively with neonatologists, nurses, and multidisciplinary care teams
