Job Description:
- Under the direction of a supervisor, the Patient Support Specialist is responsible for providing patient healthcare services and enabling access to prescription medications.
- This role involves direct interaction with patients, physicians, and pharmacies to support our client’s copay assistance programs.
- The Specialist will be part of a high-touch, concierge-style “white glove” service team that manages the patient experience end-to-end. Responsibilities include providing program information, verifying eligibility, assisting with reimbursement support, and ensuring patients have a seamless and supportive experience accessing their medications.
- This position requires exceptional customer empathy, communication skills, and experience in patient care, healthcare, or case management.
What You Will Do:
- Respond to inbound and outbound calls with patients, physicians, and pharmacies regarding access to care and reimbursement needs.
- Provide empathetic, patient-centered support to ensure a positive experience and drive access to medications and adherence.
- Process claims and handle patient inquiries, as needed, based on call volume.
- Escalate requests as appropriate and collaborate with internal teams (Program Management, IT, and other Patient Support groups) to resolve issues.
- Perform additional assignments and responsibilities as required.
What We Need from You:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in healthcare, case management, or a high-volume contact center (preferred).
- Experience with pharmacy benefits, healthcare insurance, and/or medical billing (preferred).
- Familiarity with call center operating metrics and performance management (a plus).
- Experience with Third-Party systems (SelectRx, Pro-Care, FSV) (a plus).
- Experience with call center software (Five9, InContact, or similar) (a plus).
