Job Description:
Job Summary:
- The Power BI Developer will support the Learning and Development team by designing interactive dashboards and performing data extraction and transformation using SQL. This role involves close collaboration with SQL developers, business users, and stakeholders to deliver data-driven insights through visually effective dashboards while ensuring data integrity and optimal performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Extraction & Transformation:
- Collaborate with SQL developers to gather and prepare data.
- Develop and optimize SQL queries for data extraction.
Dashboard Development:
- Design and build intuitive, user-friendly Power BI dashboards and reports.
- Ensure visualizations effectively communicate key insights.
Data Modeling:
- Create and manage data relationships within Power BI
- Apply best practices for data modeling and structure.
Performance Optimization:
- Optimize dashboard performance and load times.
- Identify and troubleshoot Power BI issues.
User Training & Support:
- Provide training and support to end-users.
- Assist with dashboard usage and functionality questions.
Maintenance & Updates:
- Maintain and update dashboards with new data.
- Monitor for and resolve any issues.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Gather requirements and feedback from stakeholders.
- Participate in planning and review meetings.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree (required)
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, transformation, and complex query development
- Expertise in Power BI, including Power Query and DAX
- Strong data modeling and visualization skills
- Analytical thinking with attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities
- Understanding of UX principles for improving dashboard usability
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Familiarity with other BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Qlik)
- Knowledge of ETL processes and data integration tools
- Basic project management skills
