Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated Maintenance Technician I to support equipment operations at the Memphis Global Logistics Center. The ideal candidate will ensure timely preventive maintenance (PM), minimize downtime, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across facility equipment. This position works closely with Field Service Technicians, Engineering, Operations, and Quality teams and plays a critical role in maintaining operational excellence on the night shift.

Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated Maintenance Technician I to support equipment operations at the Memphis Global Logistics Center. The ideal candidate will ensure timely preventive maintenance (PM), minimize downtime, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across facility equipment. This position works closely with Field Service Technicians, Engineering, Operations, and Quality teams and plays a critical role in maintaining operational excellence on the night shift.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) and ensure timely completion and documentation.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems across facility equipment.
- Monitor assigned production lines and collaborate with manufacturing to minimize equipment downtime.
- Build and rebuild machinery components and assemblies as needed.
- Initiate, manage, and document work orders using Proteus CMMS (or similar).
- Identify and communicate equipment issues in accordance with Stop & Fix procedures.
- Participate in sustainability, energy management, and conservation projects.
- Track and analyze equipment performance trends to prevent recurring problems.
- Support and train junior technicians in safety, 6S, PMs, and proper repair procedures.
- Troubleshoot and operate robotic systems during normal production; resolve quality or output issues.
- Partner with Lead Technicians and Engineers when advanced support is required.
- Maintain compliance with the *** Code of Conduct and complete all mandatory training on time.
- Perform all other duties as assigned in a safe and efficient manner.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate degree or technical certifications preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum 5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing, logistics, or facility environment.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic schematics.
- Proficient in diagnosing and fixing electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Working knowledge of PLC (programmable logic controllers) is a strong plus.
- Skilled in CMMS systems like Maximo or Proteus.
- Additional Skills:
- Strong computer skills, including MS Word and MS Excel.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and documentation practices.
- Able to work independently and under pressure.
- Commitment to safety, continuous learning, and collaboration.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs periodically (with team or mechanical assistance).
- Frequent walking and equipment interaction throughout the facility.
