Location: Akron, OH (Hybrid)
Shift: Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM
Job Overview:

A national energy firm is seeking an Environmental Permitting Specialist to support gas pipeline projects in Ohio. The role involves assessing environmental permitting requirements, securing permits, and ensuring compliance with regulations. The candidate will work closely with project managers, external consultants, and regulatory agencies.

• Permit Evaluation & Compliance: Determine required environmental permits for gas pipeline projects, including wetlands, erosion control, and stormwater management.
• Regulatory Coordination: Communicate with agencies to secure permits and represent the company in inspections and regulatory meetings.
• Project Oversight: Direct external consultants in preparing permit applications and managing deliverables.
• Site & Team Support: Advise project teams on compliance requirements and provide technical assistance during construction.
• Process Adherence: Ensure compliance with environmental policies and safety standards.

Minimum 3 years of environmental permitting experience
Experience with permits related to wetlands, stormwater, and cultural resource coordination
Ability to manage multiple projects and work with various project managers
Experience working with or representing an organization in regulatory agency interactions

Experience with environmental permitting for linear utilities (gas, electric, water, or sewer)
Experience overseeing consultants
Knowledge of environmental justice issues
Strong interpersonal, communication, and decision-making skills

• Must have a valid driver’s license for travel to job sites.
• Must be comfortable working in both office and outdoor environments in varying weather conditions.
• Willing to undergo a background check.
