Job Title: Patient Services Representative II (PSR II)
Job Description:
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the face of the company for patients accessing healthcare services, whether for routine care or significant health decisions. The PSR II is responsible for collecting high-quality blood specimens and preparing them for laboratory analysis in accordance with established practices and procedures. This role involves direct patient interaction and aims to foster an environment of trust and confidence by clearly explaining procedures and performing skillful, accurate, and safe blood collection. The PSR II is expected to demonstrate leadership behaviors, a strong focus on process excellence, and a high level of confidentiality and accuracy when handling patient information. Assignments may include work at doctor’s offices, patient service centers, or other locations based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform daily duties accurately and punctually under the supervision of the area supervisor.

Maintain a safe, professional, and welcoming environment for patients and colleagues.

Confidently perform forensic and clinical specimen collection and processing in compliance with established protocols.

Verify patient demographic details and obtain signatures after venipuncture to confirm correct labeling of specimens.

Accurately maintain all required records and documentation.

Promote a positive image of the company through excellent service and a professional demeanor.

May be required to travel between multiple sites and adjust schedule to meet business needs.
Job Requirements:

Proven ability to deliver quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.

Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary blood collections.

Flexible availability to accommodate variable schedules including weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime.

Adherence to company policies, procedures, dress code, and safety protocols.

Sound decision-making abilities and good judgment under pressure.

Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record (if applicable).

Must be capable of managing multiple priorities in a high-volume setting.

Strong customer service orientation and effective communication skills with peers, supervisors, and patients.

Willingness to embrace change and demonstrate knowledge of company operations.
Required Education:
-
High school diploma or equivalent (required).
-
Medical assistant or paramedic training (preferred).

Phlebotomy certification (preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington).
Work Experience:

Minimum of three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections (required).

At least two years of experience in a Patient Service Center environment (preferred).

Customer service experience in a retail or service setting (preferred).
-
Keyboard and data entry proficiency.
